About this blog

Yes, I added a warning.  I do not wish to offend.  I do not intend to, and I endeavour not to.  But I have noticed that some people can be particularly offended by ideas they disagree with.  So, be warned.  You might disagree with a lot of what is written here. Now that that is over, let’s get on with my intro. It’s been a while.   I can see my last Spiritually inspired post was 5 years ago.   Wow! doesn’t time fly when one is being introspective! It has been a very interesting time.   So, the blog is now being updated.   It will be, as always, offering reflections and hopefully be as objective as I intend it to be. I will also start discussing some new philosophical concepts about the Universe and Spirituality.   New tags: ð   Post-Spiritual(ism) .   My beliefs are still spiritual.   My perspective is post-Spiritual.   So, the tag post-Spiritual(ism) refers specifically to Philosophical discussion...

The beginning of post-Spiritual(ism)

I love being Spiritual.   The responsibilities are simple.   Be nice to everything and everyone.   Nothing complicated.   The joys are quite great too.   The feelings of peace, love, and joy experienced while communing with nature, or connecting to the Universe in some way is simply exhilarating. Yet, I am not one for blind faith.   I am not necessarily a sceptic.   I believe that everything is possible.   However, I also like to know how things work.   It’s the way my brain is wired.   Since I was a little child.   When I received a new present, be it a car or a nicely bound book, my one and only question was always: “How does it work?”   I took everything apart trying to understand how it worked.   Always getting into a lot of trouble for it.   Nonetheless I did.   I can’t help it.   It’s in my nature. So, when someone says: “You have to raise your vibration”, I take it at face value. ...

Empathy: The definitive guide

No one is born an empath. We learn Empathy through personal experiences. We can see this in children. A child whose ice cream melted and fell on the ground will empathise with another child who has the same experience. A child who received an unwanted gift at Christmas, will empathise with someone else in a similar situation. A child who has been bullied, will be able to empathise with a child who is going through the same experience. In fact, we do recognise that children are not naturally empathic, and good mentors will always assist the child in learning one or more lessons from each experience, so that they can empathise with others when appropriate. For example, if the child plays a competitive game, and their team loses the match and their friend on the opposing team taunts them, an attentive advisor (whether parent, family, family friend, teacher, or whatever else) will not only make the child feel better by way of encouragement, but will also help the child reflect on ...

My Spirituality

Raised by a devout Catholic family, it wasn’t long before I questioned Christian Teachings, and Catholic attitudes. I was always surprised at the violence, intolerance, and vengefulness of the god of the old testament. When compared to the teachings of Love, Peace, Tolerance, and Charity of Jesus Christ, I could only arrive to the conclusion that the Old Testament is based on the word of a different god. While the attitude of the Old Testament resonated with my testosterone induced, primordially guided, teenage mentality, the message of Jesus resonated on a much deeper level. My heart and soul approved and felt at peace with this latter message. When considering this, and taking into account the warning against false prophets, and wolves in sheep clothing, it was a simple process of reasoning that lead me to believe that the different god of the Old Testament was a false god. Maybe the Anunnaki really did exist. Maybe especially powerful being not of this world who claimed to be ...

Rules For Spirits and Guides

In our lives, we all have boundaries.  These are little rules that allow others to be part of our lives, without intruding.  And these allow us to live our own lives, while participating in the lives of others, and while other play a part in ours.  So, we will teach our children to knock at the door before entering our bedrooms or bathrooms, we let our friends know our working hours, we tell our colleagues not to call us beyond a certain time, and so on. Similarly, those who have strong intuition, gut instinct, or Spidey senses, which are all psychic information or more developed psychic ability, need to have rules. These are conventions that we set to make sure that spirit does not encroach on our non-psychic life. It is important to have a balanced life because those who don't have a good balance are unable to give proper trust or attention to either aspect of their lives. For example, in my family my husband and kids all have a guide each apart from me ha...

Explaining Behaviour : WORKAHOLICS

We have all met them. We have worked with them.  We have shared an office, sat on the opposite desk, Some of us may have had a relationship with them.  At times, we may even have been them.  But what drives workaholics? They are the first to arrive in the morning and the last to leave at night. They spend all the time stuck to their desk, with their head down, always busy.  They are sociable, polite, and interact with everyone in the office, but not very often.  They will be more likely to listen to a conversation, than to participate.  They will accept any work given to them without a word of complaint, or a flinch of disappointment.  We may often see them as the Manager's pet, or as ambitious careerists, and we may even dislike them for this. But, let's think again.  There is something in this nature that deserve attention and compassion, instead of resentment. There are some exceptions.  Some workaholic are truly focused people who ...

What are the traps of spirituality? Is the mind one of them?

I was recently asked this question, which made me think quite deeply. Firstly, I should probably to mention semantics … Trap is a negative term, and I would prefer to call them challenges and stepping stones.  Even if we look at a stepping stone, if the stone is taller than half the length of one’s leg, it already becomes a challenge.  If it is taller than oneself, the trial is even greater. Something else worth mentioning, is that there are degrees of spirituality.  Not everybody needs to be a monk! The degree of spirituality we aim for depends on what is the next step we want to take in our Eternal life once we move to the next plane of existence.  The higher the degree of spirituality, the higher the next plane of existence (where higher is in relation to the ethereality of the world of our choice.  It is by no means a physical height as we interpret it in our human existence.  To explain this concept in details would take quite some ti...

The hour of weeping for the world

In this post, I am going to share something very personal.  I do not exactly know why, a little voice in my head is telling me to share this information.  Maybe it is because I need some self-healing.  Maybe it is because I would like other people to become more sensitive.  Maybe it is because I would like to raise people’s awareness about the pain the in world. It does not matter why, in complete honesty, you the reader make of it what you will. Those who know me see me as a big, strong, butch man.  Yet, I have a very sensitive soul.  My eyes will swell with tears at the sight of suffering, as much as they will at the sight of an act of kindness.  I am quite proud of this sensitivity of mine, as it is an indication of a strong and mature soul that is willing to live through whatever happens in my life, as well as the lives of other people.  I drink a lot of water, so I am never dehydrated, and I can keep the waterworks functionin...

From immigrant to immigrants, a word of advice

I read and see in the news how much anger and frustration is being shared by both immigrant, and host countries, of late.  I have been an immigrant for the most part of my life, first in the UK, and now in the Philippines, and I would like to share some advice, in the hope that it will help people to their new life in what will be their new home country. I left Italy when I was 20 years old.  I just didn’t fit in, and after falling in with bad company, I was at risk of ending up in jail, or dead.  I hope my Italian friends will forgive me for this post, I love you all, and you were never the reason for me leaving.  It was my situation which was in no way helpful to me. One day, as I was told by my then girlfriend that she was pregnant, it dawned on me that I needed a fresh start, a new beginning. So, we left Italy, and set off for the UK in search of a better, more fulfilling life.  We were full of hope, and had high expectations of what our liv...

Transgender

For many of us, as it is for doctors and scientists, life is black and white.  We look at something, and make a decision, an assessment, a judgement, based only on the look of that thing. So, when a baby is born, a midwife or a doctor looks between their legs and pronounces to the eagerly awaiting parents whether it is a boy or girl. Then, when the baby goes home it is in a pink world of dolls and frilly dresses, or a blue world of cars and trousers. Gradually some babies, as they grow, find that they prefer to play with toys aimed at the opposite sex and love those clothes too. If they have friends, they soon learn to be very careful with what they say and how they come across to them. When they are really young, they become very confused, and miserable, and don't quite know why this is. Although some intuitively know very early on, others struggle to fit in, until there comes a time when eventually the feeling that they are in the wrong body gets stronger and stronger...

Various Reasons for Addiction

Those who are the most loved, are usually the ones who are also the most settled, stable, and lead happy lives.  Unfortunately, not everybody is lucky enough to be counted in this group of people. Many of us, go through suffering at some stage in their lives, and this has a detrimental effect on their minds, bodies, and souls.  In this post we will look into one of the effects caused by bad experiences in people's existence, which is addiction. People get addicted because they are looking to fill the emptiness that they feel inside, or are trying to get away from a bad reality.   Children who have been physically/mentally/sexually abused grow into insecure adults with low or no self esteem. They may have no actual memory of the abuse because they hide those terrible memories in a box in their head, which they lock very securely, just to make sure they will never remember those anguishing times, and that they will never have to deal with the pain again.. They ju...

Ensuring Healthy and Happy Relationships

Relationships are supposed to be the best thing that happens to us in this earthly life.  Finding a soulmate that shares our path, gives us love, and appreciates our love, a shoulder to cry on, a rock to lean on, that makes us stronger, and fulfilled is truly a gift. However, relationships can so often, and tragically, turn into alienating experiences and re-shape our life, and perspective, and our sense of self-worth in the most destructive ways. There are, however, a few things we can do to check that our relationships turn out to be better than we could ever have dreamt, instead of into our worse nightmare First, and foremost, a good relationship goes far beyond attraction, and it is necessary to actually LIKE the person as well. NEVER have to excuse their behaviour or accepting blame for their failure to return our love appropriately, or for their inability to behave in a loving and considerate manner. A good relationship is based on frank and open exchange o...

The end of the world: Obamacare, Planet X, and Polar Shifts

Source: NASA Today someone sent me a message on Facebook, claiming that the Rapture is near, and cited the fact that the Obamacare bill would require all Americans to wear an RFID microchip either on their arm, or forehead, linking it to Revelation 13:15-18 , and calling it the “the sign of the Beast” Personally, I am not excessively worried about the end of the world. If such thing as Judgement Day is to come, I believe I am reasonably prepared to be judged. However, I am always excited to find a new subject for a blog post, so I did a little research. Nothing major, a simple Google search. I always love to do generic internet searches as they yield the most amazing results, there is a lot of information out there, and it is fun to sift through what is available and attempt to assess the truth. The most reliable article , however, which has the most links to it, and which links to an online version of the Obamacare act , seem to indicate that the information is simply a lot...

Learning life lessons from a little bird

This morning I woke up quite late. As I was rushing to get ready to go to work, I stopped to look at Mount Banhaw from my windows. I am quite lucky, as I can see the top of the mountain right from my window, and every morning I spend a few seconds looking at it. Whether it is sunny, cloudy, or rainy, the view is always incredibly uplifting; and every morning it reminds me of the beauty surrounding me if only I take the time to look. This morning was a particularly sunny morning, typical of a Filipino summer, and the sky was clear of any clouds, and I could see the tip of the mountain in all its bright splendour. I took a deep breath, taking in this reminder of the astounding creation of God in which we live; and which I am particularly lucky to enjoy in the Laguna's countryside. This view is a little constrained by the many rooftops surrounding my house in the heavily built up centre of the little town in which I reside. On the roof of my neighbour's house, with the co...

Mental-Emotional-Spiritual (and Physical) balance - Part 4 - Helping Others

Got balance? Time to help others So, once one has a good Mental-Emotional-Spiritual (and Physical) balance, what to do with it? Undoubtedly, the first thing to do is to enjoy it. A good Mental-Emotional-Spiritual (and Physical) balance brings inner peace. That in itself is priceless. In all honesty, it is nice when people talk about someone and say "Oh that person is so nice … always with a smile, a breath of fresh air". When one has a good balance, he or she will naturally attract people around them. And inner peace is infectious. It spreads like a smile. However, the second object of our attention should be to maintain it. Think about how hard it was to achieve it. Hang on to it. Keep everything stable; meet your needs. Although it is relatively simple to maintain a good balance, it is also mind boggling easy to lose, as mentioned in part 3 . Last, but definitely not least, spread the peace! Help others achieve the same state of joy, peace, and enligh...

Mental-Emotional-Spiritual (and Physical) balance – Part 3 - What if we don't gain balance?

What if we lose, or never gain this balance? In the previous post , we looked at why it is helpful to fulfil the needs of all the facets of our being, and I argued that once achieved this Mental-Emotional-Spiritual (and Physical) balance, it is relatively simple to maintain. This implied, however, that it is not particularly easy to achieve in the first place. When we talk about gaining or regaining composure, whether one is trying to regain this balance or to achieve it for the first time, they face a similar struggle. The only difference is that those who have never gained equilibrium will consider it a kind of "holy grail"; instead, those who have lost it will know that it is possible, it is achievable, and it is beneficial. Firstly, let us consider what can cause someone to lose or never gain a Mental-Emotional-Spiritual (and Physical) balance. In my experience, this can be caused by many factors. Something like abuse, neglect, a co-dependent relationship, losi...
